Agriculture is one of the human activities that contributes most to the increasing amount of chemical pollutants via excessive use of synthetic chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which cause further environmental damage with potential risks to human health. A cycle of chemicals and synthetic inputs have soils which are out of balance and lacking in microbial life resulting in declining crop yields and quality. The health of the world is dependent on the health of the environment.

Food production is the most important of all professions and farmers and growers need to be supported and protected. Farming needs to be more profitable and sustainable with education, strategies and quality products needed to help achieve these goals. Scientific research demonstrates that fruits and vegetables grown naturally not only taste better, but have higher levels of nutrients. Flowers and ornamental’s grown naturally smell better and look healthier.

The choices we make today impact future generations and their ability to feed and sustain themselves. A plant which is out of balance, deficient in minerals from a soil out of balance, provides a host in which infections and disease will thrive. Plants living on synthetic fertilizer, in a dead soil, deprived of microbes, have no defense against these opportunistic infections.
Sustainable agricultural requires crops to be disease resistance, salt tolerance, drought tolerance, heavy metal stress tolerance, and to have better nutritional value. Soil microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, algae, etc.) increase nutrient uptake capacity and water use efficiency.
Environmental sustainability of soil and water is enhanced by the use of biofertilizers.
